Communication in Entrepreneurship

Communication is necessary for the establishment, survival and growth of any entrepreneurship. Communication is defined as the activity of conveying meaningful information. It requires a sender, message and an intended recipient. The communicating parties share an area of communicative commonality. The communication process is complete once the receiver has understood the message of the sender. Studying the communication process is important because you coach, coordinate, evaluate, and supervise throughout this process.
During the transmitting of the message, two elements will be received: content and context. Content is the actual words or symbols of the message that is known as language— the spoken and written words combined into phrases that make grammatical and semantic sense. We all use and interpret the meanings of words differently, so even simple messages can be misunderstood. And many words have different meanings to confuse the issue even more. Context is the way the message is delivered and is known as paralanguage. It is the nonverbal elements in speech such as the tone of voice, the look in the sender's eyes, body language, hand gestures, and state of emotions that can be detected.
Communication occurs daily in our society through conversations either face to face, on the phone, Internet, letter and host of other means. The significance of communication is crucial to the continued understanding, cooperation, and development in society and entrepreneurial ventures. Effective communication in any entrepreneurship is important for decision making and successful functioning. Entrepreneurs are generally self-reliant as well as proactive in nature. They are often discontent with the status quo and forced to react to the rapid change and complexities with their environment.
==Entrepreneurship==

Entrepreneurship involves undertaking innovation, finance and business endeavors in an effort to transform innovations into economic goods. It is defined as the act of being an entrepreneur. It is crucial to mention that an entrepreneur cannot succeed without communicating with his or her human elements in the organization. An entrepreneur needs a communication string that links people together in his or her day-to-day business activities.
Part of being involved with "entrepreneurship" includes taking risks. Entrepreneurs search for change, respond to it, and exploit it as an opportunity. It is commonly believed to be extremely chancy, but even the slightest reward of success entrepreneurship can be self-rewarding. Entrepreneurship is becoming increasingly popular in today’s society. By having their own control entrepreneurship is deliberately in the entrepreneurs hands. By taking risks and not being afraid of failure, there can be a significant increase in lifestyle by having an efficient business, project or goals.
An entrepreneur should possess traits of a charismatic leader by being able to communicate his/her vision effectively to create a team. According to Baum et al. a charismatic leader will have positive effects on both organizational and follower outcomes. Research has shown that charismatic or transformational leadership can be positively associated with followers perceptions, performance, and attitudes. An important aspect of charismatic leadership is being able to communicate the vision.
Kouzes and Posner stated that the vision must be communicated to others, through written statements as well as through personal communication, in order to convince them to support it. This can be applied to both getting a team together and getting investors. Locke et al. proposed that leaders must use their personal communication skills, including speaking and listening skills, to articulate vision to others. Entrepreneurship theorists point to the importance of communication of the entrepreneurs vision to new venture teams.
Consistent with Hackman & Johnson communicating a vision to followers may be well the most important act of the transformational leader. Compelling visions provide people with a sense of purpose and encourage commitment. Burt Nanus lists 4 characteristics of an effective vision- an effective vision attracts commitment and energizes people, creates meaning for followers, establishes a standard of excellence, and bridges the present and the future.
In order to succeed, entrepreneurs must know what it is like to fail. In every entrepreneurship it should be communicated that failure is possible, but it should be considered a road block rather than a dead-end. Some of the most successful entrepreneurs failed several times before they were successful.
